Description
A lovely print of the town of Guildford viewed from a hilltop framed in a black and gold frame with a string and hooks for hanging. We believe it is an original engraving print picture from circa 1850s. The artist is Thomas Allom and engraved printed by Henry Allard.
The print is in good condition apart from some slight puckering of the paper but this is to be expected in a piece of this age. It’s very hard to photograph without it looking worst than it is with the way the light catches it but actually when hung in the wall it’s not really visible. Possibly it being reframed mean you could “iron” it out. We like to be completely transparent.
The frame is 32 x 28 cms.
