Mid-Century Germany vase in white and tan – style 4035 17

Description

West German vase, marked “Foreign” with the numbers “4035/17” on the base, we think it possibly could be by Siershahn but haven’t been able to find a match for this vase. Either way, it’s a very stylish piece, quite unusual with its different textures in the glaze with sgraffito work being shown. Off white/glazed with matt terracotta brown wavy stripes. A perfect for a collector of mid century pottery or an enthusiast of European art pottery

There are a couple of manufacture faults (see photos) on one side with two small pieces of missing glaze. There is also a little hairline surface crack inside the neck of the vase. We have taken picture of the outside of the vase at that point and you can see it doesn’t come through to the outer part of the vase that you would see. All this is reflected in the price.

H – 17.5 cms
W – 7 cms at widest part
